Powered by a 2 liter 180 bhp turbodiesel engine, this sketch is a design study that may indicate things to come for the future of VW’s SUV lineup. Due for Geneva, this is a concept that VW hints at slotting in below the Tiguan, a lifted Golf that can go off road. Inside one can find a 12 inch touch screen, feeds from many cameras attached to the exterior and lots of glass. As is the current trend, this SUV has two
doors like a Range Rover Evoque and has different drive train modes for “Street”, “Offroad”, and “Snow”.
Equipped with a seven speed DSG dual clutch automated transmission and 4Motion 4 wheel drive, this concept is
meant to be a fully automated off road cruiser; if VW builds something such as this, it will be interesting to see how the
transmission deals with the strains and jarring of off road rock crawling, which VW assure the reader will be a reasonable activity. What are the prospects for such a car to be constructed? Probably pretty slim in its current form, but is there space below the Tiguan? Quite possibly. Feel
free to check out the press release after the jump.
