The world of technology is constantly evolving, therefore
automobile companies need to always be one step ahead of
everything. When it comes to car tech, the radar and
camera-based safety systems have become pretty
common, something that is found in most vehicles.
So, this means that companies need to bring something new
to the table in order to attract customers. This is the case of
Subaru, the company just recently announcing that it will be
launching a new EyeSight system that processes stereo
images to identify the vehicles traveling around you,
obstacles and other items.
This gadget incorporates color cameras with improved
brake light detection, and can function with speed
differential of up to 30 mph (previously 19 mph). Also is has
a 40 percent longer and wider detection range and it is 15
percent smaller that the previous model.
Moreover, the system features adaptive cruise control,
vehicle lane departure warning as well as pre-collision
braking and for what it offers, it is one of the most
affordable crash avoidance technologies on the US market.
If you find Subaru’s new EyeSight system to your liking, let
us tell you that 2015 will bring some other interesting safety
gadgets such as Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change
Assist and even Blind SpotDetection. So, one can see that
the guys from Subaru sure are working pretty hard us and
we can’t help but be interested in what their plans for the
future are.
