Meritor offers two lightweight electronic systems
that allow drivers to control tire pressure,
differential locking, and transfer case
positioning to improve military vehicle
performance and traction in various terrains and
extreme conditions. The SmartFlow central tire
inflation system (CTIS) and DriveCommand
drivetrain control (DTC) deliver customized tire
pressure and drivetrain management through
mud, sand, and snow both on- and off-highway.
Integrated into any military vehicle with an
onboard air compressor, the systems are
controlled by a single human machine interface
unit and mount in the cab or on the chassis of
multipurpose wheeled and joint light tactical
vehicles. CTIS automatically monitors and adjusts
tire inflation as needed with a single pneumatic
control unit, while DTC engages when the driver
selects a mobility mode on the panel.
